I like to explain why weird stuff doesn't need to be bad. Sometimes they are better. Most of the time they are ...big fun! :)
Early this morning residents of Gathanga in Kiambu county assembled to watch as a young inventor attempted to fly an aircraft he had built at home. The twenty-one year-old mechanical engineering certificate holder drew upon his education and money saved from washing cars to build what he calls a light plane, an aircraft that resembles a glider. And subsequent takeoff from the deck. With footage of six cameras including inside the aircraft. Whilst filming a plane flying close to a cargo ship that already had the nickname "aircraft carrier" due to its unique features, the "just in case something goes wrong" flat area for emergency landings just looks too good, so I cannot restrain myself and get away with landing on the moving ship. The ship was empty and very bow high which is not that visible in the video due to the camera angles, that created annoying low level turbulence and an untidy landing. Tom and...
Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2009/10/01/Kirk_Hawkins__Steen_Strand_on_Designing_the_ICON_A5 Steen Strand and Kirk Hawkins, founders of ICON Aircraft, describe the features of their groundbreaking A5 light-sport aircraft. They show video demonstrating the personal aircraft handles more like a Jet Ski than a Cessna. ----- Kirk and Steen speak to design's power to unleash new markets. They tell the story of how ICON Aircraft set out to maximize the vast potential of the FAA's regulatory changes by creating, for the first time, a recreational powersport for flying. They discuss the challenges in the development of the ICON A5, an airplane that makes flying more accessible, safer, and more enticing than...
The Memphis Tow group invades Henson's Gap. Butch, Miller, Brent, Ross, Jeff, and Scott. The towing group and other Tennessee Tree Topper members fly at Henson's Gap on Saturday, July 18, 2009. Lots of ridge soaring. It was a bit cool for July too...eveyone was getting cold while they were up.
A walk around the field at Bensen Days March 30, 2017 (Wauchula, FL) where dozens of gyroplanes fly in annually. We look at some of the fundamental mechanisms that allow a gyroplane to fly as we contrast them to a fixed wing aircraft.
This is the finest type of helicopter which has main rotor but does not have a tail rotor. This can fly normally and it is quite easy compare to two rotor helicopters. Watch more latest Videos on. This video is an introduction to the Synergy Aircraft project from April 2012. Synergy is a very advanced aircraft design that uses six important principles of drag reduction, including powered drag reduction, to provide a quiet, roomy, and fuel efficient modern aircraft experience. This video shows the work of John McGinnis and his family, volunteers, partners, and supporters to build the first full scale prototype of his novel 'double boxtail' configuration. Synergy seats at least five people and is intended to become a kit aircraft using molded construction. The flying prototype also shown is an electric powered 25% scale model. See...
OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's dubbed the "World's Smallest Jet" and one of Oklahoma's Own is flying it. The airplane's design was originally developed in the 1970's, but a new and improved version is slowly making a comeback. The small plane was originally called the BD-5, a build it yourself airplane that was also featured in airshows. It was designed by Jim Bede of Bede Aircraft, Inc. However, BD Micro Technologies, Inc. has worked for the past 20 years to update the BD-5 with today's technology. Oklahoma pilot Justin Lewis has helped the company. The result is the FLS Microjet.
http://www.sportaviationmagazine.com - Vampire LSA - Dan Johnson gives us a quick look at the Vampire LSA, light sport aircraft during the E.A.A. Airventure Sport Aviation Convention held at the Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh Wisconsin. The Sadler Vampire LSA is the latest iteration of an aircraft designed and engineered by Bill Sadler. Mr. Sadler, a graduate of the Massachusettes Institute of Technology, has over 25 years of experience designing, engineering, and manufacturing aircraft. The first aircraft Mr. Sadler produced was the Sadler Vampire Ultralight: a 247-pound single-seater with a 30' wingspan stressed to +/- 6 G's. The Sadler Vampire Ultralight...
