The process of forging a blade from a cable. Mosaic damask steel from the cable. On the cutting edge steel W110, zone hardening 62 units. Such video from the photos I already had, I shot the full video. my website: https://sites.google.com/site/damaskshevchenko/ Frequently Asked Questions: The billet is soaked in kerosene. This is necessary for good welding (forging) steel. I sprinkle flux (90% borax + 5% quartz sand + 5% charcoal powder) this is necessary for forging (forge) welding. The flux is alloyed with scale - the formed substance is sufficiently fluid and is easily displaced by deformation. In addition, the flux protects...

Subscribe to my channel: http://bit.ly/1k8msFr Second Channel: http://bit.ly/iltms-2 I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, and so to "celebrate" May 4th, I buckled down and completed my lightsaber project. This project has been in progress for almost 2 years (on and off) and it was finally time to finish it up. It uses a Teensy microcontroller and a prop shield to play sounds, handle motion detection and drive a LOT of LEDs to create the blade. The lights animate up and down with button presses and the sounds react to...

It is our most important raw material by a great margin. When we found this 20" piece of European Dogwood (Cornus Sanguinea) while cleaning up the shed, we immediately had the idea to make a sword from it. The wood is very dense and hard, it even sinks in water. The piece was completely dry as we harvested it six years ago. Ideal material! We went to work with the new Stihl 170 carving chain saw... and truly, the final product exceeded our wildest imaginations. A "The...

So i decided to make Bilbo Baggins pipe since it has a quite unique look with the engraved leaves and the string wrapped around stem. Cherry for the pipe. Spalted beech for the stem!
